- The Postal Service is seeking information on application(s) which offer a more innovative approach to deliver mail given the potential changes in the present rigid delivery structure, without inordinate complexity or lengthy implementation requirements. A more flexible delivery model and supporting national desktop platform applications will assist the USPS in reaching our restructuring goals. Dynamic Routing Strategy Request for Information (RFI) Instructions Document This document is not to solicit for a Solicitation. The Postal Service does not intend to award a contract or to pay for the information solicited. Any information provided is not binding or viewed as an official quotation or proposal. This Request for Information is issued for the purpose of gathering information only at this time. Description and Purpose The Postal Service is seeking information on application(s) which offer a more innovative approach to deliver mail given the potential changes in the present rigid delivery structure, without inordinate complexity or lengthy implementation requirements. A more flexible delivery model and supporting national desktop platform applications will assist the USPS in reaching our restructuring goals. For more information please see attached CIO Dynamic Routing Strategy Statement of Objectives (SOO). RFI Information Submittal Instructions Your submittal should bear a transmittal (cover) page which sets forth the following: company name, this RFI name, Date, and the name, title, and contact information for that or those person(s) authorized to commit the supplier and negotiate on its behalf. Suppliers are required to provide separate technical package based upon the requirements and specifications of their proposed solution(s) and they should be identified as such in their document name. Any other attachments should be referenced clearly in the main technical document. General statements such as "that the supplier can or will comply with the requirements", "standard procedures will be used", "well known techniques will be used", or that paraphrase the Specification in whole or in part will not generally be helpful. There must be enough detail for the Postal Service to determine if the if the supplier has or does not have the capabilities stated. Explanations on how a supplier's solution can meet requirements should not reference another explanation of a different requirement. For this RFI, Requirements refer to the information requested by the Postal Service. Please include information during your explanations of your solution on which components your solution can affect. In addition, please include technical information on components of your solution [Examples: Our software is based on windows platform xx.x.xx, implementation of the solution requires servers (hardware) to operate our solution (then list hardware specifications), Our solution runs with certain API protocols, Our solution is not fully automated and your organization will require human resources to operate (fill in blank), etc.] Confidentiality If your response includes confidential information, please ensure you mark it as such. The Postal Service does not intend, at this time to share any documentation received with any outside of USPS and its agents. Information Requested The Postal Service seeks information on current solutions and services available for a Dynamic Routing solution that can address the following: 1. Past Performance Please provide information on up to three (3) previously implemented dynamic routing solutions for organizations of similar size and scope to USPS. Should also outline their capabilities and implementations in this area: Organization How your Solution implemented Typical lead time for integration or implementation of the solution Problems encountered and how were they resolved 2. Pricing Structure Please provide information on the pricing structure on a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) for components of your solution or services provided. Please provide typical costs were applicable (with USPS size in scope) such as: Consulting Labor rates Software license(s) costs Other billable expenses 3. Unique considerations Suppliers may also provide at their discretion any additional product information deemed valuable to understand their products, customer references, etc.
