- This is published as sole source announcement under the statutory authority at 10 USC2304(c) (1), and regulatory authority at FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground-Tobyhanna Division, Tobyhanna, PA 18466 intends to negotiate and award a contract for the repair and overhaul of the following items on a sole source basis to Thales Communications Inc, 22605 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 2087; The proposed contract is for the part numbers listed on an attachment to the presolicitation.. These part numbers are a critical for the AN/PRC-148(V) 2 Radio Sets. These radios are part of a group of radios US Department of Defense purchased under the Consolidated Interim Single Channel Handheld Radio (CISCHR) contract. These radios are arriving back from South West Asia (SWA) and must be repaired, in accordance with, Thales approved material, practices and procedures for the remainder of the Thales warranty to be honored. Transmit Assembly, Circuit Card Assemblies, Receiver-Transmitter, Power Amplifier, Panel Module, Radio, Circuit Card Assembly, Electron Tube, MBITR System Kit, and JEM System. Best delivery will be negotiated as the parts are immediately required to prevent additional production delays as the some workload is currently in-house at TYAD performance Thales Communications Inc, 22605 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 2087 manufactures the radios and the parts necessary to repair them. Thales is the only known qualified manufacturer facility that has successfully supplied the parts for use in the AN/APRC-148 (V) 2. Only Thales is in possession of the proprietary data. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If you feel that your firm possesses the ability to provide this service, you must respond within ten (10) days of this notice. Solicitation W25G1V-13-R-0007 will be issued on or about January 31, 2013. The NAICS Code is 334220 and the size standard is 750.
