- Description
- The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Health Effects and Environmental Research Laboratory (NHEERL), Environmental Public Health Division(EPHD) located in Research Triangle Park(RTP), North Carolina, has a requirement for one (1) each Flow Cytometer. The instrument will be used in ongoing research to identify changes in the human immunological system with exposure to various pollutants. Surface proteins on cells collected from blood, lungs and nasal cavities can be up-regulated or down regulated following exposure to air pollutants. A draft of the Performance Work Statement can be found at the Cincinnati Procurement Operations Divison (CPOD) website at http://www.epa.gov/oam/cinn_cmd/. The EPA intends to use Full and Open competition. The Flow Cytometer is considered a commercial item as defined by FAR part 12 and shall be shipped to Research Triangle Park(RTP), North Carolina. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 334516. The size standard for this code is 500 employees. Solicitation number SOL-CI-13-000020 will be a request for competitive proposals. The solicitation will be posted to the CPOD website located at http://www.epa.gov/oam/cinn_cmd/ on or about February 7, 2013. Anticipated award date will be in April 2013. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to the World Trade Organization Government Procedures Agreement and Free Trade Agreements.
