- Description
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Weather Service (NWS) has a requirement for up to 390,000 new Global Positioning System (GPS) 1680 MHz Radiosondes. The NWS requires a minimum of 78,000 radiosondes annually to provide atmospheric observations for numerical weather model input for watches, warnings, forecasts, calibration of remote sensing satellites and aviation support. A radiosonde is a balloon-borne laboratory quality calibrated instrument to measure temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed and wind direction. Radiosonde deliveries will be made F.O.B. Destination to the National Logistics Support Center in Kansas City, Missouri commencing no sooner than two months after award. The contract solicitation will be issued on or about March 15, 2013 and will close on about April 15, 2013. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements. All qualified and responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the Agency.
