- Description
- The United States Marshals Service, Western District of Texas intends to issue an interim purchase order under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6-302 - Only one responsible source, and no other supplies or services, will satisfy agency requirement & FAR PART 13.106-1 (b) to Gaston & Sheehan from March 1, 2013 thru May 30, 2013, until the current posted solicitation for vehicle towing, storage, maintenance & disposal services DJMS-13-R-0007 is awarded. It is determined that it is not cost effective to move all of approximately 150 vehicles to a new location when possibly a move will be required again when the new contract is awarded. The cost to a new contractor to set USMS requrements in place and provide the security required and the possibility of damage to vehicles during a move for only an approximate three month period of time, therefore, this is a sole source requirement. This notice of intent is neither a request for competitive proposals nor a request for offers. There is no solicitation document.
