Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract to Alliant Techsystems of Clearwater, Florida for the procurement of approximately 1531 Cree Die Chips. The Government's intent is to satisfy an immediate operational requirement for deliveries to be completed ten months after contract award. This action is being awarded on a sole souce basis to ATK of Clearnwater, Florida. As SiC photodiode (Cree Die Chip) is no longer in production, and ATK completed and end-of-life buy out of this item, ATK is the sole entity able to provide this necessary piece of hardware to the Government. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10, U.S. Code 2304(c) (1), as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, "only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." This notice of intent is neither a request for proposals nor a solicitation of offers. Numbered notes 22 and 26 apply.
