Description
DESCRIPTION: This is a source sought notice to locate potential sources who can provide a slip ring assembly for the USS COMSTOCK (LSD-45). The slip ring shall be designed for 360 degrees continuous rotation in clockwise or counterclockwise direction at 180 degrees per minute, and be able to operate in conditions of up to 6 degrees pitch or trim and 10 degrees roll. Environmental Characteristics: Ambient Temperature Range 0 to 120 F (-18 to 49 C) Humidity Tolerance 0 to 100 percent (under all conditions) Electrical Characteristics: 110 VAC Main Input Circuit Breaker Size 100 A 440 VAC Load Circuit Breakers 225a Main Hoist, 125a Luff Hoist, 300a Slew motors, and 10a fuses for control power. Total maximum 440 VAC load 660a. Each input and output terminal (excepting the sound powered phones) takes two conductors each. All interested vendors are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. This is a sources sought synopsis only. Questions should be submitted by email to rashonda.smith@navy.mil and naquan.bostick@navy.mil. Provide only the requested information below. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (Service Disabled/Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB/VOSB), HUB-zone, 8(a), small, small disadvantage, woman-owned small business, or large business) relative to NAICS 336611, Ship Building and Repairing (size standard 1000 employees). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make an appropriate acquisition decision. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on the FBO website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this sources sought announcement. Responses must be emailed to rashonda.smith@navy.mil and naquan.bostick@navy.mil no later than 11:00am PST, February 8, 2013. Your response should include both the STATEMENT OF CABABILITY AND BUSINESS SIZE AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS information as explained below. Please place Attention: Slip Ring Assembly in the subject line of your email. This notice is to assist the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center in determining sources only. A SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. REQUESTED INFORMATION: (1) STATEMENT OF CAPABILITY: Submit a brief description [three (3) pages or less] that shows your company can provide the slip ring assembly. Include past experience in providing the Slip Ring to the US Navy. Please indicate your address.
