Description: Introduction: Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Pantex Plant, LLC is the managing and operating contractor for the USDOE/NNSA Pantex Plant. B&W Pantex solicits interest in providing a vendor managed inventory or hybrid for our vehicle maintenance facility. Parts and supplies must be provided to B&W Pantex on an as-needed basis for new and re-built parts and supplies that meet or exceed OEM specifications. The parts and supplies will be utilized in the repair and maintenance of a vast array of industrial and heavy equipment, automobile and trucks. All equipment, products and services are to meet or exceed all industry standards and requirements. Description of Service Requirements: B&W Pantex requests information from interested respondents in providing the following technical services: • Supplier of OEM auto parts and other accessories. • Supplier availability up to 7 days a week; • Technology available to facilitate efficiency of ordering process; to include personnel with computer skills and background in parts • Tire disposal which is environmentally conscious and replacement; • Battery exchange and environmentally responsible disposal; • Must be able to obtain a DOE Facility clearance and personnel able to obtain a DOE "Q" clearance if proposing to work on-site. B&W Pantex anticipates the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for maintenance and operation of a vendor managed inventory or hybrid for auto, truck and heavy equipment parts to interested respondents. The RFP will be issued for a contract with a base period of two (2) years and three (3) one-year option periods. Submittal Instructions Interested respondents should submit responses that include the following information: • Brief description of similar work performed as requested in the RFI • Brief description of the technical approach to provide a vendor managed inventory or hybrid. Submittal should include but not limited to the following: 1. Pricing Strategy 2. Ordering Process 3. Service level strategy i.e. response time, turnaround time for parts repairs; 4. Billing process 5. Reporting capabilities i.e. usage reporting, delivery scheduled vs. actual delivery 6. Quality controls to ensure traceability and ensure products and supplies are not suspect or counterfeit; 7. Warranty for products, equipment, supplies and services 8. Supplier Partnerships 9. Technology available to facilitate process efficiencies 10. Purchase of existing customer inventory 11. Strategies for selling parts no longer needed or obsolete Electronic responses are preferred (use either Adobe PDF or Word formats). Requirements may change from those stated in this RFI. Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Pantex, LLC (B&W Pantex) does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request for information (RFI) and is under no obligation to proceed with the RFP.
