Description

SYNOPSIS 13-0023 NAVSEA Indian Head has a requirement to develop and procure a replacement MK 112 MOD 2 Squib Actuated Switch. This procurement will be divided into two phases, a qualification phase and a production phase. The occurrence of the production phase is contingent upon successful testing of the squib actuated switch in the qualification phase. During the qualification phase, the contractor shall manufacture 275 MK 112 Mod 2 Squib Actuated Switches and 50 Squib Assemblies to be used in qualification testing. During this phase, the contractor shall also manufacture 50 Squib Headers and 10 Contact Plate Assemblies for pull, twist, and bend testing. Upon successful completion of qualification testing, the planned procurement will have an option for the production phase. If the option for the production phase is exercised, the contractor will fabricate up to 150 Squib Actuated Switches of the new design. The procurement will also include an option to purchase the full Technical Data Package. A firm fixed price supply type contract is anticipated. This is a SOLE SOURCE acquisition to be negotiated with Networks Electronic Company, 9750 DeSoto Avenue, Chatsworth, CA 91311 the system designer.
