Benning Georgia Background The National Resource Conservation Service is seeking a contractor to clear and restore two areas of erosion within the McKenna Area on the Ft. Benning Military Installation. Scope The project will include clearing, grubbing, smoothing, and disposal of trees and brush from the designated areas. Once cleared additional work will include furnishing all materials, equipment and labor needed to install silt fence, construct an earthen diversion, install rock rip rap, haul and spread topsoil, seed and mulch disturbed areas, and install erosion control blankets. Objectives When complete the two areas should be stabilized and resistant to erosion of the soil. Tasks See attached detailed specifications and drawings 1.McKenna Gully area 2.McKenna Restoration area Delivery Solicitation Period: January 31st through March 2nd Mandatory Site Review: February 12th 10:30 AM Proposal Evaluation and Selection: March 3rd through March 14th Award Contract: March 15th Pre-Con Meeting: March 22nd Estimated Start Date: April 8th Estimated Completion Date: May 21st Government-Furnished Property The Government will furnish topsoil from a site within the Ft. Benning complex that is to be loaded, hauled and spread by the contractor. Security Requirements Work will be performed on the base at Ft. Benning. Access on to the base requires a valid driver's license or other government issued photo identification. There are no exceptions. Place of Performance Ft. Benning Georgia Period of Performance April 1st 2013 through June 15th Contract Type The contract will be a firm fixed price order awarded to the offer with the lowest price technically acceptable. Miscellaneous Items: -Work week is defined as Monday through Friday -10 hour per day maximum work schedule -Continuous inspection will be performed (NRCS Inspector on-site 100% of time) -There will be a mandatory site review on 2/12/13. All interested bidders should meet at 10:30 AM on this date at the following location: USDA Service Center 111 Baker Street Buena Vista, GA 31803 Local Contact: Lewis Fokes (229-649-3131 ext. 3) -If you do not attend the 2/12/13 site review your bid will not be accepted. NRCS will not conduct any additional site reviews after this date.
