Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION PROVIDE AND INSTALL/DELIVER CONTAINER(S) FOR SCRAP METAL STORAGE This is a request for information for acquisition planning purposes. No formal solicitation for this work exists at this time. All qualified concerns may submit capability statements for consideration. Capability statements received will be reviewed to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of potential contractors to meet the needs of the Government. The capability statements will be used to determine appropriate procurement strategy, in particular whether a set-aside or an alternate procurement strategy is warranted. This is not a request for proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Responses to this sources sought notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. All interested sources must respond to future solicitation announcements separately from responses to this request for information. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this notice. The Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region has a requirement to prevent potentially contaminated scrap metal in a storage area from contacting the earth by use of an environmental containment area. Scrap metal is currently being stored in an area cordoned off by Jersey barriers on three sides, with a fourth side available for access by truck, crane, fork-lift, or other vehicles to load or unload scrap metal. The dimensions of the current storage area are 46' by 37'. The stored scrap metal is in multiple pieces that are not uniform, ranging in weight from less than one pound, to 15 tons. Each scrap metal piece may range in length from less than one foot to 15 feet. Vendors considering leasing equipment should be aware that scrap metal to be loaded into the container(s) is not uniform in size or cut, and is not treated. Therefore, the container provided may experience normal wear and tear including, but not limited to dents, scrapes, scratches, or delamination. Potential ways to meet our requirement include the building of a concrete or metal pad, approximately 46' by 37', with a small lip, approximately 1", to prevent contaminates from contacting the earth, or by providing a dumpster/container that is able to be driven into by a truck or fork-lift. The maximum height of any potential solution shall be 7.5 feet. The ability to drive a fork-lift into the storage area is a firm requirement. Preventing contaminates from contacting the ground is a firm requirement. The potential future solicitation will schedule a date for a site visit for vendors to inspect the site prior to submittal of proposals. Interested vendors are invited to submit capability packages describing the products/services they provide related to providing and installing the containers described above. Packages should include the following information: (1)Provide business name, address, business size and socio-economic type (8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran, Small Business, Large Business, etc.), and point of contact to include e-mail address and telephone number. (2)Submit capability information, such as similar projects performed, dollar value of similar projects, photographs, and customer contact information. (3)Submit product/service information, including pictures, sizes, estimated cost, and proposed delivery/installation times. All responses to this request for information shall be provided to Greg Hauburger/LC-10303, Contract Specialist, P.O. Box 61470, Boulder City, NV 89006-1470 or via e-mail to GHauburger@usbr.gov no later than February 13, 2013.
