Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with EMC Corporation, 844 Westpark Dr., Suite 700, Mc Lean, VA 22102-5102, for annual hardware and software maintenance and support services for IT assets located at the VA's Heinz Medical Center, Bldg. 32, 1010 Delafield Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15215. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) and 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source as it is believed that only EMC Corporation, or their authorized resellers/subcontractors, can provide this service without voiding any warranties or firmware upgrades, etc. This notice of intent is not for competitive quotes. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 518210. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document is available. However, parties may express their interest accompanied by supporting literature by email to Jeff Greis, Contracting Officer, no later than February 8, 4:00 ET. Responses should be sent to jeffrey.greis@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the VAPHS Contracting Officer.
