Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this RFI is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to deliver and integrate a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate products required and will help determine the most appropriate acquisition method. This RFI is for Prescription Robotic Dispensing Cabinets and manual filling stations. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Acquisition Center (NAC) is seeking information from contractors regarding the capabilities and system performance for Prescription Dispensing Cabinets and manual filling stations. The system shall be fully automated and process a throughput of no less than 9,000 prescriptions per day. The system must be fully integrated with the existing conveyor lines and software. Automation must be able to retrieve 120cc and 240cc size prescription bottles. Each counting cell must have a minimum volume of 800cc with the option for large capacity cells for higher volume products. The automation must have mechanisms in place for continued filling when medication volume exceeds the internal chute capacity. The filling queue must be able to accommodate a minimum of 10 pucks. The automation must have the ability to concurrently pre-count multiple locations for pucks in the filling queue. If the quantity available within the canister is insufficient to complete a prescription, the automation must have a mechanism in place to reprocess the remaining portion without impeding production and maintain accurate inventory counts and safety procedures. The system shall contain lockout provisions to prevent incorrect replenishments; supervisor must be able to engage for correction and override. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their capabilities and any descriptive product literature to explain their company, products provided, and any past performance information in relation to robotic dispensing cabinets. Information shall be received by the Contracting Officer no later than 22 February 2013. Respondents are invited to conduct a teleconference with the Tucson Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy from 11 February 2013 - 22 February 2013. No video recording will be allowed. The intent is to allow interested parties to provide the Government information on robotic dispensing cabinets and manual filling stations. Interested parties are also authorized to provide possible alternatives. Coordination of times for teleconferencing and information must be received by Contracting Officer no later than: February 20, 2013, 11:00 AM, EST. Mail or email information to: Nonya Trower, Contracting Officer, VA National Acquisition Center, 3675 E. Britannia Dr. Tucson, AZ 85706. E-mail: Nonya.trower@va.gov In addition, please include any information if you presently offer these products on a current GSA Federal Supply Schedule contract. Disclaimer and Important Notes: This Request for Information does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this RFI should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work.
