Sole Source Justification SUBJECT>66-MULTI-CHANNEL SOLO ROBOTIC PIPETTOR AND MICRO 10X ROBOTIC DISPENSER <SOLNBR>103-30016-13 <RESPDATE>02-15-13 <CONTACT>Point of Contact, Regina Dennis, Purchasing Agent, (215)233-6553, fax (215) 233-6485 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Eastern Regional Research Center, Residue Chemistry and Predictive Microbiology (RCPM) Research Unit in Wyndmoor, PA intends to negotiate solely with Hudson Robotics, Inc. in Springfield, NJ to furnish and deliver (FOB) Destination a Multi-Channel Solo Robotic Pipettor with software and supplies and Micro 10X Robotic Dispenser includes manual, robot load station and Lablinx track mount. This Robotic System and Dispenser will allow us to collect more and better data in less time and at a greater than 90% reduction in labor, media and waste disposal costs. Media volumes and waste per experiment will be reduced from 280 ml to 26 ml and the number of experiments per week per technician will increase from 1 to 4. This will greatly enhance our ability to achieve project milestones and objectives in a timely manner. The Robotic System with Dispenser will provide a fully automated and integrated system for performing the most probable number (MPN) method for Salmonella at significantly reduced labor, media and waste disposal costs. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 (current as of FAC 2005-64), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS is 334516. The Solicitation number is 103-30016-13 and is issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ). Companies with the demonstrated capability of providing this equipment must submit a descriptive statement, including descriptive literature, specifically addressing the equipment=s component=s and availability. In the event multiple quotes are received, the quotes will be evaluated on the basis of lowest price, technically acceptable. In order to be considered technically acceptable, the item must meet specifications and compatibility requirements. The statement and literature must be submitted to the Contracting Office Address NLT 02/15/2013. This is not a request for proposal. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE.
