- Qualification Statement which is the basis for the evaluation of your company or firm. The Smithsonian Institution in this Request for Qualifications (RFQ F13SOL10016) is seeking the most highly qualified companies or firms that can furnish museum casework for permanent exhibitions at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum - a historic building in New York, NY. The purpose of this solicitation is to prequalify firms who will be requested to submit a Management Plan and Cost Proposal for this project. Firms must have demonstrated experience in the fabrication, delivery and installation of museum-quality metal and glass exhibit cases. The completed exhibit cases will contain various objects from the museum's collection, including textiles, wallpapers, drawings, prints and three dimensional objects and will occupy an exhibit space of approximately 10,000 square feet within the museums first and second floor galleries. The anticipated completion date for casework installation is early 2014. The project will include 2 rounds of prototype with shop drawings, partial fabrication and testing prior to the manufacturing of final display cases. Other project elements may include in-case lighting and security. Estimated cost approximately $2,000,000 This announcement is open to all businesses regardless of size. The contract awarded will be firm-fixed-price. Minority businesses, Small businesses, Small disadvantaged businesses, Women-owned small businesses, Hub-zone small businesses, Veteran-owned small businesses, and Service Disabled Veteran owned businesses are strongly encouraged to apply. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 337215. Prior to award contractors must be registered in SAM (System for Award Management) which replaced Central Contractor Registration and ORCA in July 2012. Any companies or firms who feel they can furnish the requirements above should complete the attached qualification statement. The completed qualification statement should be no greater than fifty (50) pages in an UNBOUND format and should summarize your company's or firm's relevant capabilities & experience.
