- SF-1449 The minimum specifications for the engine are as follows: - single outboard motor 70-80 Horsepower - Motor shall meet or exceed CARB 3 Star emission rating. - Tiller kit attached (no steering wheel) - Power trim - Electric start - Aluminum propeller (not stainless) plus two spare aluminum props (3 total) - High alternator amperage output to support auxiliary electronics, 80 amp minimum output. - Can extend no further that 36 inches behind the boat when mounted (to prevent interference with tow line) - Engine must be no higher than 35 inches from the top of the transom to the top of the cowl when mounted, through the full tilt range (clearance for tow bar). - Capability to frequently work in water depths as shallow as one foot, or in thick vegetation, but also work effectively in deep open water. - liquid cooling system with cooling water outlet holes suitably sized to reduce the likelihood of plugging with vegetation and sediment particles. - Ability to mount to 20-inch transom - Must be mounted on, and set-up on our existing boat. - We have an existing 2012 75HP Mercury Optimax that needs to be removed and is available for traded in. The boat was built by Clark Boats for us in the late eighties early nineties. It's a custom made aluminum flat bottom river boat. (18 feet) - see attached. Quote should include the cost of the new outboard, installation of the new outboard, any trade in value for the old outboard. Trade in value shall be listed separately and may be accepted at the Government's discretion. The US Army Corps of engineers is willing to transport the boat for installation of the motor up to a distance of 60 miles from Lock and Dam 2, if installation is to occur further away it's the responsibility of the Offeror to arrange transport of the boat, and the cost of transport is to be included in the quoted price of the motor. Outboard shall be installed on the boat no later than three weeks after contract award..
