- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Intramural Research Program (IRP) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences National Institutes on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Division of Intramural Research in Baltimore, Maryland. The imaging system is needed for the image analyses of molecular changes after exposure to addictive drugs as assessed in our rat model. Purchase of an imaging analyzing system, an operating computer system, and service contract to be utilized by NIDA/IRP Histology Core (Director, Dr. Morales). The Typhoon FLA 7000 IP is a fast laser scanner for biomolecular imaging for sensitive and quantitative measurement of radioisotopic labeled samples. It offers high-speed performance for sensitive detection and precise quantitation of radioisotopic signals detected by storage phosphor screen technology. This is a simple configuration of Typhoon FLA 7000 without any fluorescence functionalities. Technical specification for phosphorimaging is identical to those of the Typhoon FLA 7000. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition FAR 13 and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis.
