Description
***This amendment is being issued to change the close date of the Industry dat to February 8, 2013 at 5 PM. This notice is issued for informational and planning purposes only. This announcement is not a request for proposal (RFP) nor does it constitute a guarantee or otherwise commit the Government, in any way, to solicit or award a contract now or in the future. No solicitation is available at this time. The purpose of this notice is to invite interested parties to attend an Industry Day hosted by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation regarding the requirement described below. DLA Aviation and the United Stated Air Force invite members of the Aviation Industry to a meeting at which the Government will present a proposed five-year initiative for future support of the F-16 Wing. Our tentative approach is to limit this effort to specified original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and structural licensees of selected components. However, during the DLA Industry Day, discussions will be open to all other suppliers for possible subcontracting opportunities. The proposed requirement is primarily focused, but not limited to the supply chain management of an estimated 532 national stock numbers (NSN) associated with the F-16 Wing and also includes the development and management of demand and forecast information as well as maintenance of required stock levels. Information to be presented at the DLA Aviation Industry Day includes the scope of the project in its entirety and potential acquisition strategies. Opportunity will be provided for industry participants to ask questions and provide feedback regarding the proposed initiative. This meeting is to be held on 19 February 2013, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mountain Time, and will be conducted at Hill Air Force Base (AFB), UT. Details of meeting location at Hill will be provided based on your response. Intended participants are requested to contact Craig Weiser at (256) 842-7600 or by email at craig.weiser@dla.mil to notify of your attendance.
