- Request For Information This is a Request for Information (RFI) as defined in FAR 15.201(e). This RFI is issued in order to identify qualified sources capable of conducting overarching AWACSs weapon system engineering, test and integration across the AWACS life-cycle. This RFI is issued for the purpose of conducting market research. Respondents to this RFI should provide information on how they would conduct overarching weapon system engineering, test and integration across the AWACS life-cycle to include delineation of current and future capabilities/practices/processes regarding: • Access to all AWACS Specifications, Interface Control Documents, verification methods and verification data bases used to for modernization verification and qualification • Performing System Integration Studies to include E-3 aerodynamic, electromagnetic interference and Size, Weight and Power (SWAP) analysis for integration efforts. o Defining Interface standards and requirements via the Interface Control Working Group (ICWG) • Supporting AWACS configuration verification activities. • Performing Diminishing Manufacturing Source analysis to identify potential problems and develop resolution plans up to and including suitable replacement alternatives that minimize system architecture changes and/or redesign. • Conducting Reliability Maintainability & Availability (RM&A) analysis to identify key support parameters. • Performing special studies to define potential system and lower level E-3 requirements • Defining, developing, and maintaining the AWACS weapon system plans to integrate enhancement activities to achieve improved system cost, performance, and effectiveness • Provide non-recurring engineering services and necessary supplies • Include efforts/activities necessary to conduct studies, design and develop systems, subsystems, components, develop architectures, experiments, demonstrations, "quick-reaction" capabilities • Perform advanced technology development • Perform air vehicle and sub-system RM&A analysis design • Perform management, operation, and maintenance of system-level and radar subsystem-level E-3 RDT&E and Qualification Labs that conduct E-3 engineering, verification, and qualification testing Respondents to this RFI should provide capability statements as qualified prospective vendors capable of providing the services that support all of the aforementioned objectives. The total number of pages for responses shall not exceed five (5) 8.5x11 inch, single spaced, single sided pages in length.
