- Corrections to SF 1449. Corrected proposal due date and last date for questions. Comprehensive Multiple Component Waste Management Services Including Solid Waste and Refuse, Medical Pathological Waste, and Recycling The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the world's largest biomedical research facility. Direct research and support activities are performed by approximately 18,000 employees working at the 340 acre main campus located in Bethesda, MD, the 513 acre NIH Animal Center (NIHAC) in Poolesville, MD. The operations on the NIH main campus include approximately forty buildings, 3,000 research laboratories, and a research hospital. The Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Acquisition and Logistics Management (OALM), Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations (OLAO) has a requirement for comprehensive waste management services for the collection, transportation and disposal of medical pathological and non-hazardous solid wastes generated by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the collection, transportation and recovery of recyclable materials. The Government anticipates award of a fixed price, indefinite delivery type contract under solicitation number NIHOD2013398. The resultant contract shall be for a period of one year commencing on or about May 1, 2013 and shall include four successive 12-month option periods. The requirement is classified under North American Industry Classification Code (NIAICS) code Subsector 562 - Waste Management and Remediation Services - 562111 Solid Waste Collection with an average annual receipt of $12.5 million. The closing date for receipt of all proposals is March 15, 2013 3pm EST. A pre-proposal conference will be held on February 5, 2013 at the National Institutes of Health, Building 21 Training Room, NIH Main campus, 9000 Rockville Pike Bethesda, MD 20852. Specific information regarding the pre-proposal meeting shall be included in the solicitation. All future information regarding this acquisition, including amendments, will be disseminated solely via FedBizOpps.gov - https://www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of this solicitation will not be available. Interested firms are responsible for downloading copies of the solicitation and amendments and monitoring FedBizOpps.gov for updated information concerning solicitation number NIHOD2013398.
