Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION USING OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION FOR BECKMAN COULTER HEMATOLOGY ANALYZERS The solicitation number is VA262-13-Q-0441. The NAICS Code is 334516. The size standard is 500 employees. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) The proposed sole source is Beckman Coulter for service of Government-owned, Beckman Coulter hematology analyzers, model LH750. Beckman Coulter is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of this analyzer and due to the proprietary nature, Beckman Coulter is the only known source capable of conducting preventative maintenance and repair service. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotations should be e-mailed to Rebecca.Gloria@va.gov no later than 9:00 am Pacific Standard Time, on 14 February 2013. Be advised that all correspondence sent via e-mail shall contain a subject line that reads "Solicitation VA262-13-Q-0441, Beckman Coulter." Only proposals received by this date will be considered.
