Description

The Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) has a requirement to enhance an existing system and also develop new applications on information extraction from free text in the electronic health record. Contractor shall be responsible for refining the existing natural language processing (NLP) to analyze additional radiology modalities and report types. Contractor shall expand the capabilities of Chest X-ray Device Extractor (CXDE) so that it is able to process other report types involving the chest, such as CT scans. Contractor will be expected to create a new module of CXDE that is able to analyze these additional report types. The extensions to CXDE developed in this new work will be required to have output formats that will process with the NLP-Temporal Analysis (NLP-TA) application, so that the outputs from the radiology reports other than portable chest-x-ray can be included in the line counts determined by the NLP-TA system. NAICS Code 611420/$7.0 million. This solicitation will be available only via the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fedbizopps.gov). All Offerors MUST be registered and verified on the System Award Management (SAM) database. All questions will be answered via an amendment to the solicitation posted through www.fedbizopps.gov NLT February 13, 2013. The submission deadline for this solicitation is February 15, 2011 by 12:00 p.m. Pacific time. The government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after closing.
