- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE The Louis A. Johnson Veteran's Administration Medical Center at 1 Med Center Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301 intends to award a Sole Source contract to Marsh's Lumber and Home Center, Inc in Clarksburg, WV to provide the following supply: Sodium Chloride (rock salt); 40 pallets with each pallet containing 49 of the 50 lb bags Marsh's Lumber was vendor with the lowest bid technically acceptable indicating its ability to meet all aspects of Solicitation VA244-13-Q-0001 posted in October 2012. All items were to be delivered to Louis A Johnson VAMC premises within 24 hours of being called by our Facilities Management personnel. Due to storage constraints, the facility could not exceed more than 15 pallets at a time. The quantities were estimated projections and not guaranteed quantities were provided to the successful vendor. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 325199. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures FAR Part 13 and Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6302.1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No award will be made on the basis of quotes or offers received in response to this notice. Vendors who feel they can provide the above requirement may submit a quotation and technical capabilities, which if received by 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on February 14, 2013, shall be considered. All responses must be submitted to the Government point of contact at the email address shown below. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The intent of this notice is for informational purposes only. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability information will be provided.
