Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a construction contract for Main Switchgear Replacement, Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, Hanover, NH to determine the interest, availability and capability of HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business and Small Business concerns for the work as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238210. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $500,000. The project is planned to be issued on or about April 2013 and the contract performance period is 180 days. The work consists of supplying and installing a new 15kV, 1200 Amp SF6 gas insulated switchgear and all associated fuses and accessories. The switchgear shall consist of (6) vertical sections bolted together for a single lineup. The switchgear shall be provided with a non-walk-in enclosure complying with ANSI/IEEE standards C37.20.2 and C37.20.3, and formed from heavy gauge steel to provide a degree of protection to personnel against incidental contact with the enclosed equipment and outdoor environments. The common bus shall be 1200 Amps and top running. There will be a rental air insulated switchgear in use at the time of installation, adjacent to the site of the previously used existing gas insulated switchgear. The contractor shall be responsible for all demolition and disposal costs of the existing switchgear. The new switchgear cabinet shall be set up in the same location as the existing switchgear, and the contractor shall modify the concrete pad and surrounding fencing as necessary. The contractor is responsible for all costs associated with changing over and modifying the existing electrical feeds as necessary from the rental unit. The Contractor is responsible for all coordination with the utility company. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work requirements stated above. Please include a specific example of the firm's relevant experience. Subcontractors may be used to demonstrate this past experience. Responses are due 8 March 2013. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
