- Description
- The National Park Service (NPS) is extending the Prospectus Solicitation # CC-BLRI002-13 for a Concession Business Opportunity for Craft Sales, Retail and Limited Food and beverage Services at the Northwest Trading Post within the Blue Ridge Parkway for an additional 35 days. All offers, including that of the Existing Concessioner, must be received by the NPS at the address listed on the inside front cover of the prospectus no later than 4:00 p.m. on March 20, 2013 in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract. The NPS considers this notice to be an extension of the existing solicitation (#CC-BLRI002-13). The text that follows is from Solicitation #CC-BLRI002-13, posted on December 20, 2012: The National Park Service (NPS) has revised a prospectus for solicitation of offers for a 10-year concession contract to provide craft sales, retail and limited food and beverage services at the Northwest Trading Post (NWTP) within the Blue Ridge Parkway. The NPS has revised the Prospectus to improve the opportunity for potential offerors by reducing the Leasehold Surrender Interest buy-in to $0. The NWTP is located at Milepost (MP) 259 on the Parkway, near the town of Glendale Springs, NC, in Ashe County, and is an hour north of the popular resort towns of Boone and Blowing Rock, NC. Since its inception, the NWTP has focused on the sales and promotion of locally produced, mountain-themed handicrafts. Shop offerings include handicrafts such as baskets, pottery, jewelry, quilts, books, souvenirs, and local handmade foodstuff. The NPS has determined that the Existing Concessioner is a Preferred Offeror for this Draft Contract pursuant the terms of 36 C.F.R. Part 51. All offers, including that of the Existing Concessioner, must be received by the NPS at the address listed on the inside front cover of the prospectus no later than 4:00 p.m. on February 13, 2013 in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract. The prospectus describes the business opportunity and includes the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract. The prospectus will be available on the NPS website at http://concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm, or you can receive a hard copy for $50.00. To request a hard copy of the prospectus to be delivered via Federal Express, send a check for $50.00 payable to the National Park Service to Mark Morgan at the address listed below. Please include a physical address (no post office box) and telephone number. You may also pick up a printed copy at the Superintendents Office at Park Headquarters for $45.00 (checks only).
