THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, Panama City, FL intends to award a sole source firm fixed price commercial order to A&J Manufacturing Company, 14831 Franklin Avenue, Tustin CA, 92780-7217 for the following items: 1. Four (4) each EMI Electronic Equipment Enclosure P/N 9758-1000 for LCS-8 2. Two (2) each Set-Up of EMI Electronic Equipment Enclosure for LCS-8 3.Twelve (12) each Fixed Shelf P/N 150-005 for LCS-8 4.Two (2) each 2U Drawer P/N 160-680-9 for LCS-8 5.Ten (10) each Cable Retractor P/N 150-080-2 for LCS-8 6.Twelve (12) each Mounting Bracket P/N 151-122 for LCS-8 7.Seven (7) each Slide Plate Assembly, 2 inch H P/N 150-195 for LCS-8 8.Four (4) each Slide Plate Assembly, 4 inch H P/N 150-309 for LCS-8 9.Four (4) each Power Panel P/N 150-274 for LCS-8 10. Forty (40) each T-Nuts P/N 220-0001 for LCS-8 11.Twelve (12) feet Gasketing, EMI P/N 210-1130 for LCS-8 12.Eight (8) each EMI Electronic Equipment Enclosure P/N 9758-1000 for LCS-9 13.Four (4) each Set-Up of EMI Electronic Equipment Enclosure for LCS-9 14.Twenty-four (24) each Fixed Shelf P/N 150-005 for LCS-9 15.Four (4) each 2U Drawer P/N 160-680-9 for LCS-9 16.Twenty (20) each Cable Retractor P/N 150-080-2 for LCS-9 17.Twenty-four (24) each Mounting Bracket P/N 151-122 for LCS-9 18.Fourteen (14) each Slide Plate Assembly, 2 inch H P/N 150-195 for LCS-9 19.Ten (10) each Slide Plate Assembly, 4 inch H P/N 150-309 for LCS-9 20.Ten (10) each Power Panel P/N 150-274 for LCS-9 21.Eighty (80) T-Nuts P/N 220-0001 for LCS-9 This action is unsuitable for full and open competition for the following reasons: The system is the only system which, based on government testing results, meets the necessary commercial and military band certifications and weight restrictions. The end items being purchased were specifically tested as part of the MVCS and are the only items that have been certified through interoperability certification. Currently, no other source meets the certification requirements for interoperability with the MVCS. The items being purchased were specifically tested, evaluated, and certified as part of the MVCS. Other items would require extensive engineering testing and certification which would result in the required deliverable dates not being achieved.
