Description

MARKET SURVEY DLA Land & Maritime is preparing to solicit a long term contract for NSN 4820011362143/PART NUMBER 4P156-3. THE CURRENTLY APPROVED SOURCE IS ALLEN AIRCRAFT PRODUCTS (82829). This announcement is considered market research in accordance with FAR Part 10. No solicitation is being issued at this time. The purpose of this synopsis is to identify qualified vendors capable of manufacturing this item in accordance with the requirements above. While DLA Land & Maritime may have drawings/specifications associated with this item, only the source listed above is currently approved. This part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity in order to maintain the quality of the part. Existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge by the qualified source require acquisition of the part from the approved source. The approved source retains data rights, manufacturing knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government, and the data or knowledge is essential to maintaining the quality of the part. An alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity's procedures, as approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. The qualification procedures must be approved by the Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over the part in the intended application. Sources interested in becoming approved sources for this NSN must submit the appropriate information as outlined in DLAD 52.217-9002, Conditions for Evaluation and Acceptance of Offers for Part Numbered Items. Sources interested in manufacturing this item i.e. offering other than the approved/genuine CAGE/PN listed in attachment should complete the attached market survey and return the completed copy to Sandra.Kessler@dla.mil by February 27, 2013.
