- Description
- Albany VA Medical Center Wireless Handheld Nurse Call System The Albany VA Medical Center is looking to purchase a handheld communication device that integrates with our Navicare Nurse Call Version 3.0. The purpose of this upgrade is to enhance patient care, and patient safety through quicker response times to vital clinical alarms and patient requests. By integrating into our pre-existing call system these handheld communication devices will allow for a complete network of safety with bed, IV pump, and patient calls communicated directly to the assigned nursing staff. The Handheld system must include the following functionality: "Gateway to integrate with Navicare Nurse Call Version 3.0. "Ability to allow the patients to talk directly to the nurse through the Navicare Nurse Call Version 3.0. If the primary nurse is not available, the patient's call should be able to be escalated to back-up co-workers. This ensures that the patient gets the attention required and nothing gets missed. "Can be cleaned with any common antimicrobial or sanitizing agent readily available in the hospital. "A large scratch-proof display. "Have an emergency button. "Have professional messaging capabilities allowing for text messages to be delivered instantaneously to the relevant handsets offering increased security in that all important messages are acknowledged. Color coding based upon priority provides intuitiveness and timely response. The Wireless Technology must include the following functionality: "Must operate on a IP-DECT System that is designed to operate in the unlicensed PCS (U-PCS) band which is the only FCC set aside frequency for on-site wireless usage. "Use an IP-DECT on-site wireless system utilizing Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) with Time Division Duplexing. IP-DECT System generates less interference because it transmits lower power (90 mW) over a narrow bandwidth within the 1920-1930 MHz range. "Needs to be fully encrypted, authenticated communication and digital radio transport between the access point or base station and the handset, with a new encryption key used for each call. The IP-DECT Access Points must include the following functionality: "Ability to add mobile voice services onto an existing wired LAN with low maintenance, zero-touch RF design wireless infrastructure. The Accessories must include the following: "Desktop chargers. "Charging Rack. "Battery packs charging rack. "Base station.
