Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Iowa intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project number 636A8-12-009, entitled, "Electrical Panels, Feeders, Switch Upgrade", at the Iowa City VA Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work includes, but not limited to, replacement of specific panels, motor control centers, cloth wire, and transformer with minor architectural work per contract specifications and drawings. Some work must be done after normal working hours and limited down time for the electrical equipment identified per documents. Work will involve access to BW02 shaft which contains asbestos containing material and fall hazard. Contract completion time frame is 300 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the SAMS database (http://www.sam.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to (gary.rogers4@va.gov). Issue Date is scheduled for March 1, 2013. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be March 13, 2013 @10:00 a.m., Iowa City VA MedicaL Center, Bldg. 1, Room 3W19B, 601 Hwy 6 West, Iowa City, IA 52246. Bid Opening Date is scheduled for March 26, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. (local time), at 1303 5th St. Suite 300, Coralville, Iowa 5224. The applicable NAICS Code is 238210, with the applicable size standard being $14.0 million. Cost range is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE.
