- Notice of Intent to Sole Source Sonar Mounting System for the R2Sonic 2024 Echosounder aboard Survey Vessel Wheeler at the Detroit Area Office It is the intent of the US Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District to award a sole source fixed price contract to Universal Sonar Mount, a division of Inertia Labs, LLC for the purchase of an articulating sonar mounting system. This is a patented product that is sold by Universal Sonar Mount (USM) Corporation. USM has specifically designed and engineered this product for its specific application as an articulating sonar mount. This apparatus affixes directly to an existing USM mounting plate previously installed on the survey vessel. Due to the standardization of this system, USM can supply replacement parts on an as needed basis. Universal Sonar Mount is the only available source to provide the equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All interested suppliers who feel they have the capability to perform these services must submit a capability statement no later than 2:00 pm Eastern, 12 March 2013. All submittals will be considered by the Government. This notice represents the only official notice of such solicitation. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
