- Description
- The US EPA intends to procure a Gravimeter for its Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL), Las Vegas Laboratory. The instrument will be used for outdoor land gravity surveys. The sensor type on the gravimeter shall be a fused quartz spring. Additional requirements for the gravimeter are as follows: (A) Resolution: 1 microGal or better (B) Measurement st. dev: Less than 10 microGal or better (C) Operating range: 7,000 mGal (D) Residual long term drift: At least 0.02 mGal/day (E) Auto tilt compensation: +/‐ 200 arc sec (F) Auto corrections: Tide, instrument tilt, temperature, drift, near terrain, noisy sample, seismic noise filter (G) Memory: USB memory stick or onboard storage of raw data (H) Battery capacity: 2 rechargeable batteries and charger (I) Internal GPS: Multi channel GPS with standard GPS accuracy <15m or <3m with DGPS or WAAS (J) External GPS: NMEA compatible (K) External power supply (L) RS‐232 and USB cables direct data transfer capability (M) Utility software The gravimeter will require all necessary field acquisition accessories, a protective case and the necessary operating manuals. Performance Requirements The instrument shall be a self‐contained gravity meter where the sensor, user i/o electronics, and battery are enclosed in one container. The instrument must have a sunlight readable screen for instrument i/o including visual of the digital gravity data. The following data, at a minimum, must be displayed and recorded: -survey meta data and notes -corrected gravity -standard deviation of the reading -x and y axis tilt -time and duration of measurement -correction data -sensor diagnostics such as temperature The overall weight of the instrument shall not exceed 25 lbs to ensure ease of use in the field. Software Requirements: -Mapping and analysis software with the capability (with potentially additional modules) of gravity data reduction processing of large geophysical data sets -Capability of processing and filtering geophysical data sets -Capability of 3D modeling of complex structures -Capability of gravity and terrain corrections -Capability of location and depth estimates form gridded gravity data -Capability of statistical analysis -Capability of mathematical filters of geophysical data The Gravimeter is considered a commercial item as defined by FAR part 12 and shall be shipped to Las Vegas NV. The EPA intends to use Full and Open competition. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. It is anticipated that the request for quotation will be posted on or about March 15, 2012 on the World Wide Web through the following website: www.fedconnect.net. It is the responsibility of the offerors to monitor the Fedconnect website for changes or updates. No hard copies will be available. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to Free Trade Agreements. Anticipated award date will be in April 2013.
