Description
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. This is to address questions in reference to RFI N00178-13-Q-1006. 1. What are the future funding details for this effort? -Funds have been allocated to assess systems of interest. 2. What specific platforms will be utilized? -The system of interest will not be released at this time. 3. What is the difference between question 11 - RPG Fratricide Zone and 25 - Fratricide Zone. Are they looking for countermeasure collateral damage areas? Hazard to dismounted troops? -NSWCDD is looking for Fratricide damage consideration from both countermeasures and incident threat from engagement/defeat interaction. Within the scenario of interest there may not be any armor protection to mounted troops. 4. Clarify the difference between question 12 - Effectiveness (Probability of Defeat) and 26 - Probability of Defeat. -It is a redundancy. 5. Engagement Range - distance of RPG to platform or platform to intercept point? - Shortest distance between system and shooter that threat can be engaged. 6. Number of systems for 360 coverage - size of Platform? -Vehicle will not be identified, if system varies between platform please specify requirements for both maritime and ground system. 7. Detect to engagement time - time to first declare RPG to actual defeat or to fire control solution? -This is highly CONOPs driven. RPG deployment range. Desired engagement area. Dwell time between threat detect to countermeasure launch. 8. What is the difference between question 4 Engagement Range and 9 Range of RPG at Intercept? Does engagement range mean distance between platform and RPG? -9 refers to the distance from vehicle that intercept will occur.
