- Description
- The Contractor will provide approximately 88 weeks' worth of education support services for the professional development of up to 700 Civil Service Mariners (CIVMARS) and other merchant mariners, as designated, both afloat and ashore over the course of the performance period. The Contractor shall teach and perform related administrative duties for the training program and courses. In addition, the Contractor shall provide personnel and technical support services to analyze the effectiveness of training as evidenced through afloat food service operations. The Contractor will also assist with site visit, coordination, display and presentation to support the annual Captain David M. Cook Food Service Award winners from the CIVMAR operated fleet. The Contractor will also teach up to ten (10) weeks of non-scheduled courses (Surge) upon request by MSC. The Contractor will be required to obtain curriculum materials and will be required to update materials for the presentation of existing courses to ensure classes are up to date and reflect Navy and MSC policies and procedures. The Contractor will also be required to hold a yearly instructor workshop not to exceed three (3) days in an effort to improve and refine the training processes for both Supply and Culinary disciplines and review and update curriculum and policy/procedures. This acquisition was a small business set-aside conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12 using Part 15 Procedures, and is performance-based in accordance with FAR Part 37. The subject award is a firm-fixed-priced (FFP) contract with reimbursable elements. The contract term will consist of a one-year base period and two, one-year options. If all options are exercised, the contract coverage period will end three years after the commencement of contract performance.
