Description
The contractor shall provide, install, secure, and maintain a minimum of 13.2kV, 1000 amp temporary main switchgear and 5ea 400 amp sub feeders to power all of the CRREL site, and disconnect all components in the existing switchgear cabinet. The current cabinet contains a switch for the main incoming feed and 5 sub feeders that branch out throughout the facility. The current switchgear and feeders are no longer able to hold SF6 insulating gas, and the switchgear and 5 sub feeders must be replaced. The contractor is required for all coordination with the power utility company, and may have a maximum power outage of 48 hours conducted during a weekend. The contractor shall be responsible to change over all power feeds to the facility to a temporary system while a permanent replacement is being fabricated and procured. The contractor shall be responsible to completely de-energize the existing cabinet to prepare it for demolition. The temporary unit shall be set up adjacent to the existing cabinet, and secured by temporary fencing provided by the contractor. The contractor shall be responsible for providing and installing the temporary switchgear within 45 days of contract award, and maintain the unit for six months with an option to extend on a monthly basis. The contractor shall be required to coordinate with a follow on contract to switch over all connections to the permanent replacement unit provided under a separate contract.
