Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this RFI is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to deliver and integrate a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate service required and will help determine the most appropriate acquisition method. This RFI is for Dust Survey of Baxter 1 automated dispensing units. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Acquisition Center (NAC) is seeking information from contractors regarding the capabilities and system performance for a Dust Survey of its Baxter 1 automated dispensing unit. The Contractor will have all equipment and supplies to perform up to 20 samples and one field blank for inhalable dust using an IOM sampler this will be limited to 10 samples per day so the industrial hygienists on site may take detailed works note to supplement the analytical data. This will be done over the course of 3 shifts. Two 6 channel laser particle counters will be used by the industrial hygienists to continuously measure the airborne concentrations of dust in the 0.3um, 0.5um, 1.0um and greater ranges. This will be used as part of the task analysis to identify particularly dusty drugs or processes. Samples that have detectable dust will have additional analysis performed to identify if any compounds are present on the filter. The choice of compounds to analyze will be made by the results of the real time laser particle analysis showing which Pharmaceuticals produced the most dust during the sampling. Samples will be shipped under proper chain of custody to an AIHA accredited laboratory for analysis of dust by weight. Based on these results the samples will be held for possible testing. The contractor shall provide a final close-out report, documenting the results of the sampling and any further testing or periodic sampling or review that may be necessary. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their capabilities and any descriptive service literature to explain their company, products provided, and any past performance information in relation to Dust survey's conducted. Information shall be received by the Contracting Officer no later than 22 March 2013. Respondents are invited to conduct a teleconference with the Tucson Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy from 13 March 2013 - 22 March 2013. No video recording will be allowed. The intent is to allow interested parties to provide the Government information on Dust surveys, procedures and equipment used. Interested parties are also authorized to provide possible alternatives. Coordination of times for teleconferencing and information must be received by Contracting Officer no later than: March 11, 2013, 11:00 AM, EST. Mail or email information to: Arthur Vigil, Contracting Specialist, VA National Acquisition Center, 3675 E. Britannia Dr. Tucson, AZ 85706. E-mail: arthur.vigil@va.gov In addition, please include any information if you presently offer these services on a current GSA Federal Supply Schedule contract. Disclaimer and Important Notes: This Request for Information does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this RFI should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted.
