- THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for quote or proposal and no contract or purchase order will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. Military Sealift Command Norfolk will be issuing a solicitation on or about 20 March 2013 for the Mid-Term Availability (MTA) on the USNS KANAWHA (T-AO 196) commencing on or about 01July 2013 for a period of forty-four (44) days. The USNS KANAWHA has a length of 677 ft 6 in., a breadth of 97 ft 6 in., draft of 36 ft ABL, expected arrival draft of 20 ft fwd and 27 ft aft and the highest point above baseline is 177 ft. Area of consideration is the East Coast. Major work items associated with this availability include Lifeboats and Davit Maintenance and Testing, UNREP Gear Maintenance, Annual Firefighting Inspection/Certification and AFFF Weather Deck Piping. After issuance, the solicitation and supporting documents will be made available on the Federal Business Opportunities website https://www.fbo.gov. The appropriate NAICS Code is 336611. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. There are NO RESPONSES due based on this pre-solicitation notice.
