Description
A few contractors have emailed me with questions pertaining to the Runway Rubber Removal Trucks. Below I have listed the questions and answers. Question 1~ Truck specs state "Shall have the ability to remove paint marking from pavement at a minimum average rate of 1,600 square meters per hour." Contractor is asking if it should be meters per hour instead of square meters per hour. Answer 1- Should be square meters per hour as this is the industry standard. If we only stated meters per hour the width would come into question. Question 2~ Can you specify how many axles the Chassis should have. Answer 2- 3 axles minimum but a heavier design may require more. Question 3~ The contractor was also asking for additional information pertaining to the Chassis (how many tons, is there a specific manufacturer etc.). Answer 3- We cannot specify the manufacturer but the vehicle must be legal to operate in Germany/Europe. The chassis specifications would depend on the specific design of the rubber removal system. Question 4~ "Shall contain water and debris storage to allow continuous rubber or paint removal operations for at least 2 hours without refilling water or dumping debris." Please specify how many volumes of water this should be able to hold. Answer 4- We cannot determine the capacity of the tank because the size of the tank would depend on the specific design of the rubber removal system.
