The work will include removal of a gated concrete intake structure and ~170 ft of associated corrugated metal piping. The replacement structure will comprise a gated concrete intake structure, a concrete gatewell structure to be constructed in the river face of the levee, and a concrete outlet structure with a slide gate. Site restoration will include seeding, placement of protective riprap and replacement of impacted sections of the levee top recreation trail. If construction is performed during the spring when there is a higher flood risk the contractor will need to provide means to provide flood protection equivalent to that provided by the current levee system during the time the levee is breached.
