- Project Title: Hoover Dam Elevator Modernization RFI No. R13PS30152RFI Amendment No. 1 Purpose of Amendment: The purpose of this amendment is to provide information from the Request for Information No. R13PS30152RFI Industry Day and Site Visit. Receipt of Capability Statements: The date for receipt of statements is hereby extended from March 11, 2013 to March 13, 2013 at 4:00 pm local time. The place for receipt of offers remains P.O. Box 61470, Boulder City, NV 89006, for U.S. Mail, and 500 Fir Street, Boulder City, NV 89005 for overnight mail, Hand-carried offers should be delivered to the Bureau of reclamation, Lower Colorado Regional Office, Annex Building, Nevada Highway and Parker Street, Boulder City, NV or e-mail to chayden@usbr.gov. Description of the Amendment: 1.An Industry Day and Site Visit was held on February 25, 2013. The minutes from the Industry Day, attendance sheet, questions and answers are found herein. 2.The information found herein are as follows: a.Minutes from the Conference b.Attendance Sheet c.Questions and Answers 3.The Industry Day Site Visit Minutes contained a Technical document in section III 'Project Requirements' described as "Power Point Handout" that can't be posted at FBO/NBC due to posting limitations. MEETING - MINUTES INDUSTRY DAY- SITE VISIT Hoover Dam Elevator Modernization RFI No. R13PS30152RFI Monday February 25, 2013, 10:00 AM PST I INTRODUCTION Good morning. On behalf of the Acquisition and Assistance Management Office we would like to thank you for attending the Industry Day and site visit for R13PS30152RFI Hoover Dam Elevator Modernization RFI. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an overview of the requirement and provide a site visit. This meeting will start with the requirements that offerors must provide in their capabilities package and will proceed into a general summary of the technical requirements. Following the meeting there will be a site visit. The government desires effective communications and we encourage questions. No 'official answers' will be provided today to ensure effective communications. For your convenience, we have provided a question sheet as an attachment to the agenda To ensure effective and conscience communications please submit all questions in writing by Friday March 1, 2013 at 4:00 pm PST to Cristina Hayden at chayden@usbr.gov to ensure inclusion in an RFI amendment. A sign-in sheet is being circulated so if you don't get it please let me know. Let's take a minute to go around the room and introduce ourselves. II RFI SUMMARY This is a request for information (RFI) for planning purposes only. This is a Request for Information (RFI) only as defined in FAR 15.201(e) to obtain information about capabilities and market information related to modernization improvements to eight elevators at Hoover Dam and is for planning purposes only. This RFI is not a request for competitive proposals; therefore, responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. No formal solicitation for this work exists at this time. Reclamation is seeking responsible sources having capabilities to perform construction work to perform modernization for eight (8) existing elevators at Hoover Dam, Nevada and Arizona. Please NOTE that all responsible offerors are requested to submit an electronic capability statement for this requirement. Q3: Are there restrictions on drilling or anchoring? A: Please refer to answer number 1 above.1 Q4: On the passenger elevators (KONE machines), is it possible to remove the outside glass in order to use a crane to remove and bring up materials? Q5: Will the art work be relocated from on top of the passenger elevator machine area by the building to gain access to the motors? A: Please refer to answer number 1 above. Q6: We would be happy to have a state inspector take a look before everyone bids to determine what will need to be changed/ upgraded. Would this be an option? A: We are in the planning phase. Q7: Without a site visit for electrical/fire protection vendors, we really have no way to give accurate monetary estimates of what the work will cost the customer. A: Please refer to answer number 1 above. Q12: Who will be inspecting the modernized units at turnover? A: Please refer to answer number 1 above. Q13: Will the elevator supplier be responsible for associated work outside of the elevator scope? I.E. mechanical, electrical and structural? A: Please refer to answer number 1 above. Q14: Is there a particular time of year when you would like this project to be scheduled? Are there slow periods when this work would best be scheduled? What will be the hours of operation? Will shift work be allowed? A: Please refer to answer number 1 above. Q15: Will cutting into the concrete be allowed to accommodate the new elevator machines? A: Please refer to answer number 1 above. Q16 If cutting is not allowed the existing machines would have to be retained. Are you going to consider rebuilding the existing machines? A: Please refer to answer number 1 above. Q17: Will maintenance be included as part of the contract award? If so for how many years? A: Please refer to answer number 1 above. Q18: What existing elevator equipment must be considered Historical artifacts? A: Please refer to answer number 1 above.
