Description

Performance Requirement Chart Performance Based Information Sheets Vicinity Map and Exhibit 1 and Exhibit 2. RFQ AG-05G1-S-13-0011 This project requires climbing whitebark pine trees, caging the cones, then returning to pick cones with ripe seeds from those trees in compliance with the terms, specifications, and provisions incorporated herein. Whitebark pine trees are scattered over a few locations within the Colville National Forest generally above 6,000 feet in elevation. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies and incidentals to do the job. The collection of whitebark pine cones requires two visits per tree (stem) per year. In early to mid July, depending on environmental conditions, the tree is climbed and wire mesh cone cages are placed and secured over branches with developing cones to protect the cones from predation from birds and rodents. The cages remain on the trees (stems) through September, then the trees (stems) are climbed again, the cages are removed, and the cones and seeds are collected.
