- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified businesses capable of providing TEMPLE VA and WACO VA with a new Nurses Call System. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name (b) address (c) point of contact (d) phone, fax and email (e) DUNS number (f) Type of Business, e.g. Large, Small, Service-Disabled-Veteran-Owned small business, Veteran-Owned Small Business, 8(a), HUB-Zone, Woman-Owned Small Business, Small Disadvantaged business, or Small Business HUB-Zone business and (g) must provide a capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications to assess an existing system and replace a nurses call system in various clinical areas. Responses are limited to five pages. Vendors must be willing to attend an Industry Day on 10 April 2013 at Temple-Central Texas VA and on 11 April 2013 at Waco-North Texas VA. Vendors will be given an opportunity to display their Nurses Call Systems and provide government personnel with detailed features and functionality of the product. DESCRIPTION: Work consists of assessing location infrastructure, existing bed-type system, system integration, nursing staff - patient interaction/requirements, engineering, furnishing, installing, programming and testing the new call system equipment. Work also includes removal of existing devices. To assist vendors with the government's requirement the following information is provided. Below is the breakdown of the unit, location and number of beds, along with vendor requirements, and System Must: UnitBeds Temple 2J18 2K26 3J32 3K32 4K32 Waco 10A27 10B26 11A24 11B25 7PTSD44 7BRU15 94A22 94B34 94PICU8 Vendor requirements: "Prior government installations ( VA, DOD, Etc) in Nurse Calling Systems "Experience with Nurse Calling System Repairs and Services "Highly encourage attendance to Industry Day "Must bring phones, pagers, pillow speakers, headwall, etc to fair "Respond to Sources Sought Announcement Notice "Demonstrate, explain features, and functionality of system System must include/be able to: "Nurse call System "Patient Wander "Integration between 2 systems or one singular system "Decentralized options (Phones, Pagers, etc) "Bedside or patient wall functionality (call back, automatic page, etc) "Hill-Rom bed capability (Lights, TV, etc) "Central Logging System, Report Generation, etc "Bath room & Code blue pulls "Breakaway pillow speakers "End user and Maintenance training The Government is not obligated to nor will pay for or reimburse any cost associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced as an RFQ and will be issued within 30-45 days of the Industry Day. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334290 (750 employees). Notice to Potential Offerors: All Offerors who provide goods or services to the United States Federal Government shall be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database located on the web at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ and it is desirable that all offerors complete their Representations and Certifications via (Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). Additionally, all Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses or Veteran Owned Businesses who respond to a solicitation on this project shall be registered with the Department of Veteran Affairs Center for Veterans Enterprise VetBiz Registration, located at http://vip.vetbiz.gov.
