Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. The US Army, Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD), is seeking information on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technologies and sensors operating at Very High Frequency (VHF) band, specifically 25 - 88 MHz. The radar technology or sensor being pursued should detect man made stationary and relocated targets, wires, and weapon caches. The sensor should be able to detect these targets underground, dense foliage, traditional camouflage, and concealment. The sensor must be able to operate from airborne platforms flying at altitudes of up to 25,000 feet Above Ground Level (AGL). The sensor will have the ability to detect multiple targets in the presence of ground clutter and operate in a high radio frequency interference environment. Responders are requested to provide (at a minimum): 1.Description of the developed technology/sensor including: Maturity (TRL level) Number of systems available Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) Active or Passive Frequency of operation Waveform Type Antenna design and construction Number of receiver channels Unique Processing Techniques, which can include change detection and polarimetric operation, and whether processing is performed in real-time Ability to resolve multiple targets Data Format(s) of target reports and command and control Expected or Measured Performance Data Probability of Detection False Alarms Rate Target Location Accuracy Range and cross-range resolution Operating range and swath width 2.Description of experience in development of UHF and/or VHF SAR technologies and sensors. Written inputs are requested by Friday April 26, 2013 at 4:30 PM (45 days after this announcement). Respondents are requested to submit one electronic copy to: Usarmy.apg.cerdec.mbx.i2wd-fopen-rfi@mail.mil No telephone inquiries will be accepted. There is a 5MB email limit. If classified submission is required, request how and where to send through the e-mail address provided. If electronic submission is not available submit one hard copy to Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate, Radar and Combat ID Division, Bldg 6003, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005. Responses shall not exceed 15 pages in length. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. The Government does not intend to pay for this information.
