Description
Purchase Specifications Sources Sought The information in this notice is based on the best and most current information available to date. Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions is the only known supplier at this time. This information is subject to change and is not binding to the Government. Updated information will be provided in the future announcements and posted electronically on the Federal Business opportunities homepage at www.fbo.gov. The Government shall not reimburse the costs of preparing responses to this request for information. The Ogden Air Logistics Center Contracting Directorate (AFMC), Hill Air Force Base (AFB), Utah, intends to issue a formal Request for Purchase (RFP) in fiscal year 2013 for the acquisition of Curtiss Wright Circuit Boards. The purpose of this RFI is to identify if our requirement is truly sole source. In the paragraphs to follow, the Government will describe why we believe this requirement is sole source. Please read our rationale and respond to the questions below. The Government intends to purchase spare assemblies for the Curtiss Wright Circuit boards. There is an immediate need for these spares. This is a one-time purchase; we don't anticipate future orders for these exact spares. These spares are currently available to the Government from Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions. These assemblies are proprietary to Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions; the Government doesn't own data rights so no schematics can be provided. The Government also intends to purchase maintenance support to support the Curtiss Wright circuit boards. There is an immediate need for this maintenance. The maintenance will include telephone support to diagnose system problems, repair work for defective components; basic system updates (software & hardware). This maintenance is currently available to the Government from Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions. We anticipate a basic year of maintenance with four option years. This RFI is to determine capable and interested parties for supply of the Curtiss Wright circuit boards. The Government requests interested parties to submit a brief statement of current capability to provide Curtiss Wright circuit boards. Please limit your submissions to responses to these questions. Send responses to Dayna Urquhart by e-mail at dayna.urquhart@hill.af.mil Monday, 27 March 2013/10:00 a.m. MST. If you think your company has a viable solution to our requirement, please answer the questions below: 1. What is the name and DUNS number of your company? 2. How would you satisfy the Government requirement regarding spares maintenance for the Curtiss Wright circuit boards? 3. What experience do you have in supporting Curtiss Wright circuit boards? 4. What obstacles would you have to overcome to provide spares components and system maintenance of Curtiss Wright circuit boards? 5. What is your expected cost and lead time for each component and each maintenance year (see attached spare list)? 6. What information could we add to a request for information that would help you to understand our requirement? 7. Who is your point of contact and what is their email address and telephone number? 8. What NAICS code do you suggest for this acquisition? 9. Is your company a small business for this NAICS Code? If your company is a small business, is it also a women owned business, small disadvantaged business, 8a business, HUB Zone business, service disabled veteran owned business, etc. 10. If you are a small business, would your company provide products of its own manufacture or would it provide products manufactured by another small business. 11. Can you provide these through GSA advantage? 12. Discusses any concerns you may have with our requirement.
