- Description
- Tricare Management Activity intends to negotiate a firm fixed-price contract with American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), 7272 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814-1439.on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The acquisition will be accomplished using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13 to purchase accreditation fees for the purpose of maintaining accreditation of the Pharmacy Residency Programs within Pharmaceutical Operations Directorate (Pharm-OPS). The accreditation fee covers all of the oversight requirements including site visits for the accreditation, reference materials and resources, online evaluation software which is a critical need for the program to operate, resident matching services through the National Matching Service, and an online application system. The ASHP is a professional membership organization that is responsible for accrediting pharmacy residencies and pharmacy technician training programs for the pharmacy profession. ASHP is the only nationally recognized non-governmental, non-profit pharmacy association that has been accrediting pharmacy residencies since 1962. Accreditation is the process whereby a program providing education and training is reviewed against quality standards that fulfills the requirements designated by the accreditation agency. ASHP accreditation is now required by several state Boards of Pharmacy. Pharm-OPS must maintain their accreditation from ASHP for Pharm-OPS pharmacy residency programs that are postgraduate training for pharmacists. There are only two specialized/programmatic accreditors that review pharmacy education programs; The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). The ASHP is the only nationally recognized pharmacy association that has the capability to accredit pharmacy residencies that are postgraduate training programs for pharmacists. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 813910 and the size standard is $7.0 million. Any firm that wishes to identify their interests and capability to provide this service must provide proof of accreditation in Pharmacy Residency in the United States no later than 12:00 PM EST, March 18, 2013. Such notification must include any documentation that includes certifications in the United States. Notifications shall be mailed or emailed to Jamie Karpierz, Contract Specialist, Jamie.
