Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a Maintenance Dredging project located in Wells Harbor, Maine. This announcement is to determine the interest, availability and capability of HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990. The project is planned to be issued on or about June 2013. The construction will occur in the fall and winter of 2013-14 and is expected to take several months. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The work of this project consists of hydraulically dredging the Federal Navigation Project, which consists of an 8-ft entrance channel, 6-ft inner harbor channel, an approximately 8-foot-deep settling basin between the jetties, and a 6-ft anchorage in the inner harbor. About 130,000 c.y. of predominantly sandy sediment will be dredged by hydraulic cutterhead pipeline dredge. The sand will be used as beach renourishment and will be pumped about 1 mile south to Wells Beach and 1 mile north to Drakes Island Beach (2 areas). Anticipated work window is September 15, 2013 to March 31, 2014. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.), proof of bonding, and what type of equipment would be utilized for this project. Additionally, firms must submit experience in performing work requirements stated above. This experience must have been performed within the last five years. Responses are due by April 5th, 2013 by 3:00PM. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Elandria Cameron & Kim Pumyea. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Interested firms shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
