Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice to solicit capability statements from all qualified and interested parties from SBA Certified 8(a) Firms, Certified HubZone Firms, Women Owned Small Businesses, and Service Disabled-Veteran Owned Businesses (SDVOB). Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS, OR BIDS. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. It is anticipated the work would be performed in the fall-winter of this year. The prime contractor will have to perform 20 percent of the work including the administration of the project. Potential candidates under this sources sought exercise should provide information as to previous jobs that are comparable to the one described. It should contain expertise, equipment, personnel, and bonding limits. The creation of the oyster bars will be performed mechanically to allow placement to occur close to the bottom. Placement will be with granite and/or clamshell obtained, delivered to the site placed into designated sites, and constructed to identified heights. The stone will be specified and approved by the Corps. The material should be placed onto barges and delivered to the Choptank River where it will be placed onto areas about minus 9 feet mean lower low water. Some of the material may have to be mounded. The contractor will have to find the supply of shell and identify the source in the response. The contractor must have access to equipment to perform this operation to include purchase, delivery and placement. This should include barges, offloading equipment and support vessels. The time of performance will be about 180 days and will be started in the fall. Potential respondents should be familiar with Government submittals and requirements such as the current safety manual.
