- Requirements Overview Small business sheet REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY: This request for information is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute an Invitation for Bid, Request for Proposal, Solicitation, Request for Quote, or an indication that the Government will contract for the items in this RFI. The Government does not intend to pay for any information submitted as a result of this request. The Government does not reimburse respondents for any cost associated with submission of the information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred to interested parties for responses to this RFI. Any responses received will not be considered nor used as a proposal. The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) and specifically its Driver and Marine Division (DMD) is conducting market research for the purpose of identifying possible sources that can provide Commercial off the shelf (COTS) Driver Simulators to be used for Law Enforcement Training. Currently the FLETC is using Patrol Sims but is interested in investigating the latest Driver Simulator technology that is on the market today. These simulators would be used to augment the actual driving range training in order to provide a blended approach for the Law Enforcement students that train at the FLETC. The FLETC requests the following information from potential sources: • Company name, Duns number, street address and point of contact with phone number and email address. • Provide a brief capability statement (not to exceed 10 pages excluding brochures, pamphlets, catalogs and website information) that individually addresses the requirements stated in the attached Driver Simulator Requirements Overview. • What is your socioeconomic status? (see attached small business definition sheet) • Do you currently have contracts with other government agencies (to include federal, state and local) for Driver Simulators and preferably an entity in the Law Enforcement Training Arena. Please provide the Agency name and point of contact information and contract number if possible. • Do you have a current GSA contract for Driver Simulators? If so, please provide the GSA schedule number and the SIC and NAICS codes that apply to these systems. • Please provide publically available price lists for Driver Simulators,warranty and or maintenance fees and associated support and services This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. There is no guarantee that the Government will pursue a solicitation for any of the requirements identified herein. All information received in response to this RFI will NOT BE RETURNED. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Questions or requested clarifications regarding this Request for Information must be submitted via email no later than March 26, 2013 at 3:00 PM eastern standard time.
