Description
Drafted Performance Specification RFI for 120MM Multi-Purpose- High Explosive (120mm MP-HE) Round. General Information Commander 2200 Lester Street, Code PMM 114/CT 2.6 Quantico, VA, 22134-5060 RFI: M6785413I6003. The United States Marine Corps is currently seeking information for a non-developmental, multi-function, programmable 120mm tank round for the Multi-Purpose High Explosive (MP-HE) program. The Marine Corps has a requirement to procure enough MP-HE rounds to support the entire M1A1 fleet. This round's fuze will function in three modes: point detonation, delay and airburst. The function of the round shall be programmed once loaded into the main gun via an ammunition data link. A draft of the Performance Specification for the MP-HE has been attached to this Request for Information (RFI) for vendor comment. Vendors with a programmable round that demonstrates the specifications listed in the Performance Specification are invited to submit a response to this RFI. Vendors should submit descriptions of their design, highlight the relevant risk areas, provide a schedule for a producible round and submit a rough order magnitude for approximately 10,000 to 20,000 rounds over five years. Vendors are also requested to identify any requirements which may drive excessive cost or technical risk. Interested sources are requested to respond no later than 5:00pm local time on 19 April, 2013 stating their CAGE Code, DUNS number, business size, NAICS Code, SIC Code and the complete contact information for a corporate point of contact. Interested sources should respond to the Contracting Office address below. Proprietary information shall be clearly marked. This RFI is for planning and market research purposes, therefore it shall not be construed as an invitation for bid, request for quotation, request for proposal, or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire products or services. Responses shall be treated as information only as part of market research and will not be shared outside of the Government. All information shall be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government, no entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges to the Government as a result of contractor responses to this announcement. Documentation provided will not be returned. Point of Contact Information for this effort is: Amy Anokye (Contract Specialist) and can be reached via e-mail at amy.anokye@usmc.mil.
