- This is a SPECIAL NOTICE to announce an INDUSTRY DAY for SUPERSTORM SANDY REGIONAL DREDGING PROJECTS to be held on 3 April 2013, beginning 11:00 am. The purpose of this event is to allow the Government the opportunity to provide a brief overview of upcoming dredging projects' requirements, address specific questions relating to the covered projects, and to seek information that can be valuable in planning the strategy of restoring beaches and navigation channels within USACE North Atlantic Division's area of responsibility. OVERVIEW The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, North Atlantic Division's continental United States (CONUS) Districts (New England District, New York District, Philadelphia District, Baltimore, and Norfolk District) are evaluating the use of dredged material to repair federally designed and constructed hurricane / shore protection projects damaged by Superstorm Sandy as well as channels already included in the Fiscal Year 2013 Operations and Maintenance and New Work Navigation Channel Dredging Programs. Upcoming shoreline rehabilitation projects could involve transportation of dredged material from nearby federal navigation channels and/or off-shore borrow sites with beach placement and/or placement in emergency stockpiles. Maintenance dredging projects may include dredged material placement in open water or upland dredged material placement sites depending upon the specific project requirements. Initial shoreline rehabilitation projects to be discussed, in part, are as follows; (PHILADELPHIA DISTRICT) Barnegat In. to Little Egg (LBI), NJ (Surf City, Harvey Cedars & Brant Beach); Absecon Island (Atlantic City & Ventnor), NJ; Cape May, NJ; Rehoboth/Dewey, DE, Delaware Coast Protection - Sand Bypass, DE; Bethany/S. Bethany, DE and Fenwick Island, DE. (NEW YORK DISTRICT) Fire Island Inlet and Shores Westerly to Jones Inlet, NY; Atlantic Coast of NYC East Rockaway to Rockaway, NY; Fire Island To Montauk Point- West of Shinnecock Inlet Interim Project; Atlantic Coast of NYC Rockaway to Coney Island; Raritan Bay to Sandy Hook (Keansburg), NJ; Fire Island To Montauk Point-Westhampton Dunes Interim Project; Atlantic Coast of New Jersey (Seabright to Manasquan); Initial Operations and Maintenance and New Work Navigation Channel Programs' projects to be discussed are as follows; (PHILADELPHIA DISTRICT) Delaware River Deeping, Reach E; Special Maintenance Dredging, Wilmington Harbor; Maintenance Dredging, Wilmington Harbor; Maintenance Dredging, NJ Intracoastal Water Way- Critical Shoals; Maintenance Dredging, Wills Hole Thorofare, Toms Rover & Adjacent Waterways; Maintenance Dredging, Philadelphia to the Sea; Maintenance Dredging, Philadelphia to Trenton and Maintenance Dredging, C&D Canal Proper. (NEW YORK DISTRICT) Jones Inlet; New York Harbor, Sandy Hook Channel; Long Island Intracoastal Waterway, NY; Great Kills Harbor, NY; NY Harbor: Red Hook Flats Anchorage; NY & NJ Channels: Sequine Pt. and Ward Pt. Bend; NY & NJ 50' Harbor Deeping Project; Sandy Hook to Barnegat Inlet, NJ; Port Monmouth, NJ; In addition, a smaller number of hurricane / shore protection projects damaged by Superstorm Sandy; as well as Operations and Maintenance and New Work navigation channel dredging projects from New England District, Baltimore District and Norfolk District will be addressed. THIS IS AN INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and there may be No contract awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. USACE is restricting in-person attendance to the first thirty (30) companies to contact the POC below. Each company that is notified that its attendance request has been accepted can only send two representatives each. If space permits, this limitation scenario may change and will be posted on FEDBIZOPPS. A conference line will also be available for interested parties to participate via phone. Specific questions regarding the meeting shall be submitted in writing to Mr. Rippert Roberts at Rippert.P.Roberts@usace.army.mil. Responses to these questions will be posted on FEDBIZOPPS. POC & Contact information for attending the USACE Superstorm Sandy Regional Dredging Industry Day: Mr. Rippert Roberts of USACE will be the principal POC. All interested parties wishing to attend the Industry Day must submit their intent to attend via e-mail to Rippert.P.Roberts@usace.army.mil no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time on 27 March 2013 with the names, affiliations, phone and facsimile numbers, return e-mail address, and physical address contact information for those who plan on attending. The meeting will be held at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, Jacob K. Javits Federal Building, New York, NY 10278. Meeting Room Location is the 6th floor Conference Center Room quote mark J quote mark. Food and drink (such as coffee, tea, soda, etc.) are not allowed in the conference center room. Participants are allowed to have bottled water in the room. It is recommended that those attending in person schedule a minimum of 15 minutes to process through the building's security screening.
