Solicitation Number: VA243-13-R-0829 Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 3, Bronx, NY is conducting market research/seeking sources from construction firms that are classified under one of the following small business programs: (1) Service-Disabled Veterans-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), and/or (2) Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) for the construction project Patient Improvement Rehabilitation Medicine and Audiology in Brooklyn, NY. The place of performance is the New York Harbor Health Care System, Brooklyn Campus, 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn, NY 11209. The estimated price range for this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The firm must be a general construction firm with an approved NAICS Code 236220. The Small Business Size Standard of $33.5 million. Scope: Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials and other costs for the Patient Improvement Rehab Medicine and Audiology Units at the New York Harbor Healthcare System-Brooklyn Campus. 1. The renovation involves reconfiguration of 2nd floor Northwest Rehab Medicine, Audiology and relocating Library areas and Assembly room to building 15 basement. 2. Renovation includes demolition, architectural, plumbing, and mechanical, fire suppression, electrical construction, and asbestos abatement. 3. Construction involves relocating Assembly room and Library spaces from 2nd floor to Basement of building 15 to accommodate new Rehab Medicine and Audiology suite on the 2nd floor. 4. Construct new assembly room and library spaces in the unfinished area of basement of building 15. 5. Install in new audiology booths in the renovated library space. 6. Renovate Rehab medicine to provide additional examination rooms, enlargement of PT, OT, KT, room, and Auxiliary support rooms. 7. Construct new Audiology suite with waiting room, reception area, two or more audiology booth rooms, and administrated offices and auxiliary support rooms. 8. Construct new Assembly room to accommodate 200 persons. 9. Installation of new audio/video equipment in the new assembly room. 10. Installing new plumbing fixtures and piping throughout the space. 11. Installing new electrical fixtures, wiring and conduits throughout the space. 12. Construction includes demolition of existing partition walls and installation of new gypsum board walls, new ceilings tiles and ceiling system and new finishes throughout the space. 13. Install new doors and new frames as required. 14. Replacement of existing ductwork, and existing induction units. 15. Contractor to follow all phasing plan. 16. All work shall be done in accordance with contract drawings and specifications. A bid bond as well as a payment and performance bond will be required. At this time, no solicitation exists, therefore, do not request a solicitation. Small bondable business contractors having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought. Responses should include the following information: 1. Company Name, 2. Address, 3. Point of Contact, 4. Phone number and e-mail address, 5. Business size determination and qualifying Small Business status, 6. Certification of Small business Status, 7. Available Bonding Capacity, 8. Construction experience of similar projects in size and complexity. Interested small business contractors must have bonding capacity within the price range stated above.
